I’ve included five different varieties of my favorite keto sandwich recipes, so you can choose a different one to enjoy every day of the week! These recipes are also great for keto meal prep. Prepare on a Sunday and have a meal you can just grab on your way out the door!
In this list, you’ll find recipes for a Keto BLT Bagel, Everything Bagel with Sausage and Egg, Veggie Bagel Sandwich, Sausage, Egg and Cream Cheese Sandwich and a Keto BLT Egg Bagel. There’s so many fantastic choices that you won’t be able to pick just one! Another big plus to each of these keto recipes is that they are all gluten free!
Keto Bagels
The foundation of each of these Breakfast Sandwiches is a Keto Bagel. To make these easy keto bagels, you’ll need mozzarella, cream cheese, almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, egg, egg whites and any toppings you prefer. These bagels are made of a “fat head dough” base. Shredded mozzarella and cream cheese are melted and stirred, then the dry ingredients are added to the batter. BLT Egg Bagel
- This loaded sandwich has less than 5 net carbs – 4.8 to be exact! It features a chewy Keto Bagel, fried egg, lettuce, tomato, crispy bacon and mayo! You can easily customize this by adding extras like avocado, hot sauce, or herbed cream cheese.
BLT Bagel Breakfast Sandwich
- Everything you love about a classic BLT on a low carb bagel! This is my go to breakfast, it is always so satisfying! This breakfast recipe comes to 4.6 net carbs each.
Sausage, Egg and Cream Cheese Sandwich
- At just 4 net carbs this filling breakfast features a fried egg, sausage, cream cheese on a keto bagel. This is my favorite one to mix up because you can create an entirely different dish if you used herbed cream cheese, a bagel with different seasonings, or a spicy sausage patty.
Everything Bagel with Sausage and Egg
- This is similar to the sandwich above by using a Keto Everything Bagel, sausage patty, and fried egg. This sandwich comes to just 4 net carbs.
Veggie Bagel Sandwich
- The fanciest of all breakfast sandwich, this Veggie Bagel is the one to beat! A toasted keto bagel is loaded with cream cheese, avocado, tomato, cucumber, sprouts and feta! This dish has loads of veggies to start your day right and has only 5 net carbs!
What is keto bread?
Keto bread is a low carb alternative that has either a fat head dough base or a coconut flour or almond flour base. You can find keto bread in the store, but if you are gluten free, it can be very hard to find options that are both low carb and gluten free. That is why I prefer to make my own- this way, I know that my entire family can enjoy my homemade keto bread! Here are a few options for keto breads you may have seen:
- Low Carb Tortillas- you can find these in most grocery stores, although they are more expensive than traditional tortillas
- Zucchini Tortillas– these are a great alternative to a traditional tortilla and give you a great serving of veggies!
- Cheese Wraps– cheese wraps are exactly what they sound like- basically a tortilla made of cheese!
- Lettuce Wraps– these are a great healthy option. Omit the tortilla completely and use a leaf of lettuce from your favorite variety!
- Chaffles– chaffles are “cheese waffles” and are a delicious, low carb option.
How to freeze Keto Breakfast Sandwiches
Absolutely! You can easily prepare these keto bagel sandwiches ahead of time and then warm when you are ready to enjoy. The keto bagels can be frozen and reheated, so you can have a batch in your freezer ready for you to enjoy whenever you want!
How to store and reheat Bagel Breakfast Sandwiches
To prepare these sandwiches ahead of time, prepare the bagels as directed. Layer the ingredients of whichever sandwich recipe you choose and then wrap the bagel in wax paper. You could also store in a plastic or glass container with an airtight lid. Keep in the fridge and enjoy within five days.
So when you’re running out the door in the morning, grab one of your bagel sandwiches and pop into the microwave for 30 seconds and then head out for your day!
