Chocolate Cherry Frozen Yogurt
This delightful Chocolate Cherry Frozen Yogurt is the perfect lightened up sweet treat! Low carb options are included!
Growing up we always had ice cream in the house. Always. I am the oldest of four kids and half of us would eat ice cream with chocolate syrup and the other half would eat their ice cream in the form of a float.
Can you guess which one I was? Yep, I was firmly in the chocolate syrup camp and if it was some crazy special occasion and we had a jar of that microwavable hot chocolate – look out! I would go nuts!
Now that I have my own home, ice cream is a rare occurrence. Not because my love for a good chocolatey sundae has changed, but because life is an ongoing battle between between me and my skinny jeans. 🙂 the struggle, am I right?
Fortunately, I have found some lighter, healthier ways to satisfy my sweet tooth. This skinny Chocolate Covered Cherry Sundae is a prime example! This might look like a decadent dessert but it is actually packed with Greek yogurt and fruit!

Absolutely! Making this Chocolate Frozen Yogurt low carb and keto is so simple and still keeps this recipe incredibly delicious! Follow these easy steps to make your low carb frozen yogurt.
- Use a keto friendly sweetener- monkfruit sweetener or Swerve are both great low carb sweetener options
- Replace regular Greek yogurt with a low carb option

How to make low carb Chocolate sauce
I have had a lot of success with making keto chocolate sauce using Lily’s Sugar Free Chocolate Chips and coconut oil as my base. The sauce still comes out creamy and delicious, but better because it is low carb!
How to make Homemade Frozen Yogurt
Here is how we make this delectable treat! To make the frozen yogurt I use a few basic ingredients such as Greek yogurt, fruit and sweetener. Seriously! It is that easy!
First, combine the frozen cherries, sweetener, Greek yogurt and milk in a blender or food processor. Blend until your mixture is completely smooth. Place into a small container and freeze for at least two hours.
To make the chocolate sauce, just place your chocolate chips and coconut oil into a microwave safe bowl and heat in 30 second increments until the mixture is smooth. Stir the mixture in between every 30 seconds. To make sundaes, just scoop your ice cream and add chocolate sauce!
You can eat it right away and it will be that great soft serve consistency, or you can freeze it so it gets firm and it it like regular ice cream. Either way is totally delicious! I actually prefer the soft serve texture, but I like to make a double batch and keep a small container in the freezer for those little evening snacks where I just need something a little sweet!
Can I use another fruit for keto Frozen Yogurt?
Of course! If you aren’t a fan of cherries, you can substitute in any fruit you prefer. This recipe is so easy to customize to your personal preferences. Some options that I think would be delicious are:
- Strawberry
- Coconut
- Raspberry
- Blackberry
- Mango
- Blueberry

We’ve switched from having ice cream in the freezer on a regular basis, too! But this chocolate cherry combo, it’s my hubby’s favorite. I’ll have to make it for him!
Thanks Julie! I just know he will love it!
The colors here are just stunning- and you cannot go wrong with chocolate and cherry together 🙂
Yes!! Such a perfect combo!
This looks so easy! I love making homemade ice cream but it does take some time with the chilling and freezing stage. I need to try using shortcuts like this so I don’t have to wait!
Homemade ice cream is my favorite!! But you are right, it can be a lot of work! This is such a good alternative that is so much faster!
I love Chobani’s indulgent yogurts, and you’ve made them even more delicious! I almost always have ice cream in the house, and this makes it really easy!
Me too! They are such a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth without wrecking your diet!
I will be so sad when cherry season is over! They are just so good! Love this recipe. I want to take a bath in that chocolate! 😛
Me tooooo!!! I have so loved fresh cherries this year!
Ha! I hear ya on the struggle with skinny jeans… hoping that trend will be gone soon. 😀 But until then I’ll take a huge bowl of your lighter ice cream!
hahaha! Laura you are so funny!
This looks so easy to make and delicious. What a bonus…my skinny jeans will still fit after! Holly @ 3 Yummy Tummies most recent post http://www.3yummytummies.com/s-mores-waffles/.

I so agree! I have not been able to get enough of this flavor combo this Summer!
I’m definitely on the chocolate syrup side too! These sundaes look so delicious and I love that chocolate topping. It doesn’t hurt that they’re a little healthier too!
Thanks Danielle! They are delicious!
These are too cute to handle! <3 <3 <3
I love magic shell! I was obsessed with it as a kid. Was so fun cracking in to the hard shell on the cold ice cream. I love how healthy this dessert is, and that I can enjoy it guilt free : )
Yes Natalie! No guilt here! Thanks girl!
Love Sundaes!! and these cherry frozen yogurt with the chocolate sauce looks impeccable!! Love it! 😀
Thanks Arpita! They are totally addictive!
Ooooh yes, we’re currently in the “ice cream in the house, always” kind of phase. Usually it’s slow-churned or a lighter ice cream which helps. This Chobani flavor sounds incredible! Plus covered in magic shell? Yes, please!
I have had more ice cream around this summer because of all the crisps I have made. Hello, you can not have a warm fruit crisp/cobbler without ice cream!! That would be insane!!
Yum!! How easy is this!? I actually just made a “smoothie” the other day with frozen fruit, yogurt and only a tiny splash of milk we had left. It came out more like soft serve yogurt and was such a fun, decadent breakfast! I need to try giving it a little extra freeze time next time!
Love love love chobani! I have to make these sundaes… nothing beats the flavours of cherry and chocolate together!
