Ingredients for Keto Pizza Bagels

Here’s a quick overview of what you’ll need for this recipe. Find exact measurements and directions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the page.

  • Keto Bagels – This is one of my favorite keto recipes, and it calls for mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, eggs. I do not recommend any substitutions at all.
  • Low Carb Marinara – We use Rao’s, but feel free to make your own or use your favorite brand.
  • Mozzarella Cheese – Shredded. I do not recommend using fresh mozzarella as the high moisture content can make it a bit watery.
  • Pepperoni – Mini pepperonis are super cute, but feel free to slice up whatever size pepperoni you have. You can use pepperoni made from beef, pork, turkey, or whatever you prefer.

For this recipe I am using pepperoni as my topping, which is what is calculated in the nutritional information. You can certainly add other toppings like Italian sausage, bell pepper, black olives, or other toppings, just note the nutritional information will be slightly different. A little fresh oregano or basil on top would add great flavor, too!

How do you make Low Carb Pizza Bagels?

These bagels are made using the “fathead dough” method. There are many variations of this, but the basic concept is combining melted mozzarella and cream cheese with almond flour to create a soft, pliable dough. You will find detailed instructions and photos to make the keto bagels here

  1. Once the bagels have been cooked, slice in half and place on a baking sheet (line with parchment paper to avoid washing dishes). Top each half with low carb marinara, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted. Be careful not to over bake, remove them from the oven when the toppings are cooked.

Can these be eaten cold?

Yes, these can be eaten cold and make a good lunch option. Store your pizza bagels in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days or freeze up to 3 months!

Personally, I think these have the best taste and texture when served warm. To reheat, simply blast in 30-second increments in the microwave until warm. If you like crispy edges, heat in the air fryer on a low temperature (about 320) for 3-5 minutes until warmed through.

Tips, Variations, and Suggestions

  • Switch up the toppings. Use your favorite pizza as inspiration and give it your own personal touch! Leftover meat and veggies (especially mushrooms, artichokes, and jalapenos) in the fridge can quickly make delicious pizzas.
  • Change the sauce. Forget the regular tomato sauce and try new flavors. If you like things simple, brush with olive oil and top with roasted garlic and ricotta cheese. Make it a white pizza with an alfredo sauce base and some shredded chicken.
  • Make a flavored pizza crust. If you want to easily add even more Italian flavor, consider sprinkling some dried oregano, thyme, basil, garlic powder, and onion powder into your bagel recipe! If you have already made the bagels as written, melt a little butter with your seasonings and spices, brush it on the sliced bagels, and broil for 30 seconds to create a delicious bagel bite crust.
